Over 30 Years Experience

My Story

Even though I have been in the Hospitality Design industry full-time for over 30 years, every day brings changes in the industry and an opportunity to improve processes and design outcomes.

Looking back, I was very fortunate to have two strong mentors (both female) in the early days who taught me to listen, think, design and follow-through, in that order; as well as the value of forming a collective vision between clients, consultants and suppliers for strong partnerships.

My Influences

Each mentor freely shared her successes and failures so I could learn from both outcomes. Within that framework, I learned that the three elements of a design project – Budget, Schedule and Design Quality – form a tripod that must remain balanced or the whole process will topple.

My love of travel and adventure has influenced a great deal of my work in ways that I rarely anticipate. Elements that inspire me often get translated into custom carpet and textile patterns, lighting, wall coverings, furnishings, art, mosaics, and interior architectural elements.

When the functional and the beautiful come together to forge the most enduring designs, I know that I have succeeded.
